. . .and my eyes open

The pattern is the zippered pouch from Bend-the-Rules Sewing. This was sort of a trial project, to see if I was interested enough in sewing to seriously consider the idea of getting a sewing machine – as you can tell, I did this one by hand, and I have a lot of issues sewing in a straight line.
This is not making me any less proud, though. Because it’s got a lining! And a zipper that stays in place and zips open and closed! It is giving me all these ideas that I now feel are actually doable – I’d love to try doing another one in patchwork, for instance.
(Seriously, I am like a four-year-old with their first crayon drawing, here. The only appropriate response is to nod and tell me that it’s very nice.)

Who even needs straight lines of stitches. THAT’S FOR SQUARES, MAN.
Thanks for visiting my blog…! Glad to hear of your sewing adventures, starting with the basics. I think you’re on the right track with the stitches. I’ll be back!
