I came across this video on Tumblr, and it’s honestly one of the most delightful knitting-related things I’ve ever seen. It’s a gentleman from Iceland, talking about knitting and crocheting.
I’ve sort of always wanted to visit Iceland, ever since my friend Maggie posted photos of her trip, years and years ago. I don’t know much about the country, but this video sort of makes me want to go even more.

Even though I haven’t been able to squeeze in a ton of knitting time this week, my sweater’s been coming together, slowly.

It’s also properly autumn now, with swirly leaves and sweater temperatures, which always makes me want to start to make time for homey things, knitting included. My cardigan is looking much more like a real sweater, and much less like an unseemly blob of knitting.

I hear it’s Halloween this weekend. I live in an apartment, so I doubt I’ll be getting many trick-or-treaters. But just in case the zombies do come for me, my cat’s willing to keep me safe.

I went to New York this past weekend! I went with my family, and it was a fantastic, fantastic time. There was an awful lot of walking around Manhattan, and some photographing, and maaaaaybe a little pretending to be Serena van der Woodsen when nobody was looking.

(Many more photos here, for the interested.)
I may also have stopped by Knitty City, where there was so much Madelinetosh, they could not fit it all on the shelves. Luckily, a very nice fellow customer – who knew nearly every colourway by sight – helped me go through the bags and pick something out for myself.
