One of these things is not like the other.

I’ve finally – finally – finished the body of my NaKniSweMo sweater, and am starting in on the sleeves. The way this cardigan is constructed, I knit the body and sleeves separately in the round, join them together for the yoke (that is the shoulder-bit of the sweater, non-knitters) and do something interesting and magical that turns it into a sweater. I. . .have not really read that far ahead in the pattern yet, as I prefer to focus on the here and now when I’m working on a big project. And the here and now, in this case, is sleeves.

Well, just one sleeve for now, but whatever. I find it exciting.

One of the things I love about my neighbourhood is that it’s only a five minute walk from this neighbourhood, which is one of the places in the city where fancy people with BMWs and time for maintaining gardens like to live. This is not my favourite street, but it’s one of them – nearly all the buildings are historical properties, so it feels very old and distinguished – which is the best kind of place for kicking up the first few autumn leaves in my new hat.
