As promised, this yarn is turning into something pink and knitted. Specifically, a pair of squishy pink mittens for myself, because I apparently if I don’t have a cabled project on my needles at all times, I have some kind of physiological reaction.
The pattern, for those interested, is Hermione’s Cable-and-Bobble Mittens, from atypically-knit, and it’s amazing. LIke, I can’t quite explain why making bobbles is as fun as it is, but I love doing it and mittens give me an excuse, because it doesn’t matter that bobbles sort of look like nipples when they’re for a garment that goes on my hands.

What are exam times for if not for stashing? Malabrigo in Shocking Pink, destined to be. . .something. Something pink, shockingly.

Inside shots of the little bag I posted about a few days ago. The pattern is the zippered pouch from Bend-the-Rules Sewing. This was sort of a trial project, to see if I was interested enough in sewing to seriously consider the idea of getting a sewing machine – as you can tell, I did this one by hand, and I have a lot of issues sewing in a straight line.
This is not making me any less proud, though. Because it’s got a lining! And a zipper that stays in place and zips open and closed! It is giving me all these ideas that I now feel are actually doable – I’d love to try doing another one in patchwork, for instance.
(Seriously, I am like a four-year-old with their first crayon drawing, here. The only appropriate response is to nod and tell me that it’s very nice.)
